If you haven’t seen it yet and you have a geeky pulse, you are going to flip out when you lay eyes on this! The new XMEGA Xprotolab from Gabotronics is an amazingly tiny breadboard style mixed signal oscilloscope, packing in 2 analog channels, 8 digital logic inputs, an arbitrary waveform generator and a super high contrast OLED display. Tons of attention has been put into the code that drives the XMEGA32A4 processor that turns this device into a SUPER DEBUGGING TOOL! Go make your head explode and read the feature list, containing a Spectrum Analyzer mode, On Screen Cursors, Voltmeter Mode, OPEN SOURCE DESIGN, all for $35! Are you kidding me?? Jay and I just bought one, and if you are thinking of getting one too you better hurry because they are selling like hotcakes! 16 left as I write this. SOLD OUT!

Wow, that looks indeed cool and the size is tiny. Make a case for that thing and “being out of scope” drastically changes meaning
We’ll update with a review when they come in! Stay tuned
I cant wait to make some kind of “carrier” board for this so i can use standard scope probes. You know what kind of connectors i want to use…:)
So glad you showed me this. I will have to buy at least one when they are available again as I need a good logic analyzer and a $1200 just isn’t an option for me yet. Quite a few others I know will be interested in this as well.
He just got the I2C decoding working too which is REALLY helpful. I HATE decoding UART and I2C bit by bit… check out the video here:

Also he’s working on a software USB implementation to be able to dump data to a PC. Right now the data lines on the USB connector are hooked up, but they don’t go to a USB hardware interface, just some digital I/O.
My Xprotolab scope just shipped out today! Won’t be long now.. stay tuned for updates on it’s awexomeness!!
